How We Select Our Diamonds

When we decide on the selection of diamonds for our inventory, it is important that we can sell them to our clients with pride. We want to teach our clients the lessons we have learned about Diamonds. We want to give our clients beauty, supported by the colour of metal and a stone that is perfectly cut for maximum brilliance. After all, this is one of the characteristics of what makes a diamond so beautiful to look at.
We believe in quality and want to offer that through our inventory to our clients by selecting each diamond with the utmost care to complement each specific piece of jewellery.

Viljoen’s diamond inventory is unique; we have access to the biggest diamond suppliers in the world. We always try to offer our clients Diamonds of the best quality. Access to these inventories and the nature of our personal relationships allow us to source and match any diamonds and quotes (must be comparable).
Ensuring Quality & Authenticity
Most clients can be confused about the quality of stones at first. Viljoen handles this transparently. There are no secrets in Diamonds (thank you, Howie). The pricing is regulated. There is, however, only one thing: you get what you pay for, if it’s a bargain – there is a reason. At Viljoen, we only use GIA-certified stones (GIA is the most recognisable and honourable independent natural diamond laboratory in the world); we discuss every detail of the diamond with our clients, and through this information, we can finally source the perfect stone for our clients.
A Story That Proves Our Excellence
There are so many stories in a jewellery store that have existed for 75 years. We once had a client from Germany that visited our store. He and his wife had been travelling to South Africa and stayed in Worcester for a few days to enjoy our beautiful golf course. The guesthouse they stayed at told them about our store. He visited the store and chose the most attractive piece for her. A year later, he returned and said that he had taken the piece to his jeweller in Germany. He told us with pride that his personal jeweller could not stop speaking about the quality of our stone and craftsmanship. To this day, he still visits yearly. Playing golf and visiting us in Worcester has become a tradition. It will always be a beautiful story and testament.
What is a Viljoen Diamond?
This is a beautiful question and so lovely to answer. Diamonds are bought for different reasons: love, memory, investments, or to spoil loved ones. For each of these reasons, the diamond choice and selection are different. To each individual, it is different. What makes Viljoen unique is that, above all, we care for the client’s needs and preferences. Just a short story: a client once requested that three diamonds be supplied to him. The instruction was for investment. There was a budget, and we had to give him the best stones, which in our opinion, would’ve been a great investment. We have the world’s inventory at our disposal, which would not make this a challenging feat. However, we took the responsibility extremely seriously and meticulously searched and sourced for three months every day to find the perfect stone.
